2017 SUMMIT OF IMAMS, RABBIS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS TO DISCUSS HOW TO SAFEGUARD OUR COMMUNITIES AFTER RE-TWEET OF BIGOTRY BY PRESIDENT TRUMP ENDANGERS SAFETY OF AMERICAN MUSLIMS

WHEN:   Sunday December 3, 1:00-5:00 pm

WHERE: Islamic Center of Northern Virginia4420 Shirley Gate Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030

ABOUT; The 4th Annual Summit will bring together more than 100 imams, rabbis and Muslim and Jewish community leaders from around the DMV. This is the first opportunity for leaders of the Muslim and Jewish communities DMV to respond together to President Trump’s re-tweet of vile anti-Muslim bigotry, and to strategize how to enhance the security of our communities at a moment when both Muslims and Jews are more imperiled by hate crimes and bigotry than at any time in recent memory.

The Summit will feature a panel discussion with speakers from the FBI, Muslim Advocates and the Anti-Defamation League spotlighting the mounting peril local Muslims and Jews face from escalating Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. After a presentation by initiators of recent actions that have been effective in bringing our communities together, participants will take part in brain-storming sessions to identify specific actions we can take over the next 12 months to fight bigotry and enhance communication and cooperation between our communities.

The 2017 Summit of Imams, Rabbis and Community Leaders is co-sponsored by the Greater Washington Muslim-Jewish Forum, Jewish-Islamic Dialogue Society of Washington D.C. and Interfaith Action for Human Rights.
